Lightfest commemorated International Year of Light 2015 in the UK with over 12,000 participants

On 25 September, the Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies together with the Library of Birmingham and Flatpack Film Festival hosted the Lightfest, the project awarded under Researcher Night HORIZON2020 - an interactive science exhibition exploring the science of light - in Brimingham (UK) to celebrate  the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies 2015 (IYL 2015).

A great number of unique demonstrations, workshops, public lectures took place in the Library of Birmingham on 25 September 2015 to showcase recent research from the Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies

GRIFFON researchers from Aston University and VPIphotonics - Dr Sergey Sergeyev, Dr Vladimir Kalashnikov, Dr Atalla El-Taher, Dr Dimitar Kroushkov helped with the Lightfest workshops' organisation and preparation of the practical kits for the demonstrations and hands-on activities.
